    For a decade, footwear industryveterans Nick Martire and Willa Leus-Martire — avid trail runners who grewdissatisfied with the shoes on themarket — discussed creating a premiumoff-road-ready brand of their own.“We’ve bounced the idea for 10 yearsbut every time I would say, ‘What’s ourtechnology? At the event, the two becameenamored with Dyneema, maker of ahigh-strength and ultralight fiber.Less than a month later, with COVID-19forcing people indoors, the husband-and-wife duo decided to create Norda.In July 2021, Norda released its firstshoe, the 001, a trail-ready style builtwith premium components for the off-road runner seeking superior quality.The 001 features seamless uppersmade with sustainable, biobasedDyneema Fibers, which are bothBluesign and ISCC approved.
