Mizuno Wave Prophecy
Mizuno‘s Wave Prophecy is not a “quiet” shoe — there’s no way for it to be with its full-foot Wave cushioning system. However, it’s now available in a slightly more understated gray colorway. Most Wave Prophecies make use of bold palettes to match their on-display tech, but this iteration’s “less is more” look draws even more attention to its Wave setup.
Uppers are done up in two shades of gray: the base is muted and the overlays supply a slight silver sheen. Dashes of black are present on the toe and under the collar, with white Runbird logos gracing the quarter and tongue plus a black Runbird on the heel. The heel also supplies a bone-colored clip for stability. This bone tone is also used on the full-length Wave cushioning system, which provides energy return and a responsive feel. The Wave system is bolstered further with blocks of firm gray foam between its oval-shaped assemblages, and gray rubber outsoles round off the look.
